In the act of walking, we put one foot ahead of the other, with an assurance that there is a concrete ground ahead of us while being in familiar territory. If you doubt this, try walking in an unfamiliar dark room. We always want this sureness of mind and body in what we do, as moving into the unknown seems inevitable. However, this can be limiting to finding who we are.
The Never-Ending Cycle of Routines
Taking repeated and sure steps in known routes, moving in a preplanned trajectory, gives us the same results and takes us to the same places. It does not introduce us to new environments or provide something other than what we know or are familiar with. This means that doing the same things might never take us where we want to go, which means we might never meet new people and encounter new situations.
We wake up, drive to work, take the bus, and eat the same type of food while ignoring an urge to try out the other options on the menu when sitting in our favorite diner. We use the same kind of toothpaste, oat cereal, and even ice cream flavor.
With all our set times and habits, the unknown still lurks out there, waiting to be discovered and experienced. And we might forever be stuck in our routines and habits if we do not make some changes and brave some other options.
Discovering Yourself
Getting to know yourself can take far longer than getting to know someone else. Through school, family and community, we are taught the necessary social skills to communicate with others and develop relationships in a variety of contexts. However, there does not appear to be a big emphasis placed on developing a relationship with oneself, and as adults, we have the opportunity to fully explore our true selves in a variety of ways. The main advantage of creating a meaningful relationship with ourselves is having the confidence and strength to get through all of life's trials and tribulations with a positive attitude.

Leaping into the unknown comprises discovering yourself. Your primary focus should be on doing things and thinking in ways that promote genuine and consistent happiness in your life. This could take some time as you try different things that have the potential to help you connect with yourself more deeply. You won't know what works best for your spirit unless you try it out.
The Journey of Self Discovery
No matter how terrible you think it will be when you leap into the unknown, you cannot actually say. And this is not just you; no one can accurately predict when will happen when you do leap. Every day brings its own share of events, and if you do not leap, you might regret it. Finding what makes you happy is vital.

It is okay not to know how to go about what you want to do. Not everyone does. It’s not unusual to not know all the details of your plan and strategy. It’s okay to wander while discovering. It’s a journey, not a sprint.
Ensure you have a plan, think it through thoroughly, and step out in style and confidence. It might seem you have so much to lose, but remember, you lose a hundred percent of the shots you do not take.
